IT Administrator - Pinetown

**Introduction**

Our client is a well-established company in the Logistics and Cold Storage industry.

They are currently looking for a dynamic IT Administrator to join their team in Pinetown.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the IT Infrastructure is fully functional at all times whilst ensuring data integrity and minimising recovery times after system failure.

Experience in the **logistics** or **cold storage** industry would be highly advantageous.

**Minimum requirements and abilities**:

- Excellent systems orientation and knowledge of BI and IT Infrastructure and information integrity.
- Knowledge of **packhouse management** and **export** **activities**.
- Clear communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills - must be very approachable, tactful and compassionate.
- Planning and organisation. : plans and prioritises at an operational level to ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Uses systematic, logical and structured approach to work and to keep track of information or work progress. Anticipates the consequences of situations and plans accordingly.
- Problem solving identifies and analyses problems and distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical decisions. Thinks laterally to provide practical solutions.

**Main areas of responsibility**
- Liaise with the correct departments to ensure that the network infrastructure is well maintenance.
- Liaise regarding possible network upgrades or maintenance that they plan to perform and assist when requested.
- Ensure operating software remains operational:

- Perform daily checks and report possible system problems
- Assist with issues on Solutions Report, maintenance and backup.
- Check software is operational at all times.
- Ensure the plant software is well maintenance.
- Ensure that all access points in and around the building are active.
- Equipment maintenance:

- Do monthly maintenance on scanners.
- Do monthly maintenance checks on access points.
- Maintain and support 3rd party software
- Code registration:

- Ensure that all codes are registered for products storing at the plant before the season starts.
- Assist with code registrations for new products that will be stored at the facility
- Incoming files and file transfers:

- Check that all out going files have been transmitted from all necessary files.
- Monitor and ensure files are sent off as activated on the system.
- Re-transmit files that have not been sent off.
- Chek that all incoming files are received.
- Assist where files have not been received.
