In-house Technician

Preventative maintenance, service, repair and calibration of lab machinery and equipment
- Sourcing local and international spares for machines, getting quotes and generating purchase orders
- Overseeing technical support on the Weco Tracers I & II, Huwits Tracers, Nidek Tracer and Logon
- Arranging services for relevant equipment ( e.g. Dryer, compressor ,Vacuum )
- Providing continuous feedback to Management
- Training colleagues
- Maintaining of existing MEI lens data base
- Qualifying customers on VisuStore and Tracers

Travel: Will be required to travel to our branches in Cape Town and Durban

Education: Grade 12 with relevant technical qualification

Driver’s Licence: Compulsory

Experience: 3 - 5 years in similar position

Critical Skills: Strong understanding of Optics, Clear communication, Professionalism, Problem solving, MS Office, MS Excel

Knowledge:

- General knowledge of maintenance processes, manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Optics, Fault finding, Computer software

Personal characteristics: Detail oriented, Work well under pressure, Firm and tactful in dealing with people, Persistent, Self-motivated and Able to relate well to people from all types of backgrounds.
