Electronic Salesman

STATEMENT

The Counter Salesman is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product inquiries, processing sales transactions, and maintaining an organized and efficient counter area. This role is critical in driving sales by offering product recommendations, upselling where appropriate, and ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. The Counter Salesman also plays a key role in stock management, collaborating with the Operations Team to ensure product availability and accuracy at the counter.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification is required.
- Certificate or diploma in sales, customer service, or a related field (preferred but not

mandatory).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years of experience in a retail or customer service role, ideally within electronics or a related field.
- Experience in customer service, handling transactions, and providing product

recommendations.
- Basic knowledge of electronic components, tools, or technical products
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
- Basic understanding of stock management and product placement.
- Familiarity with electronics products and consumer trends is preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Counter Salesman does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may assist in guiding junior staff or trainees when needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIROMENT
- Physical Demands: The role involves extended periods of standing and occasional lifting of products (up to 20 kg).
- Work Environment: The work is conducted in a retail store environment with frequent customer interaction.
- Equipment Used: Operates POS systems, cash registers, and stock management software. May use handheld scanners for stock counting.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Graduate

Pay: R5 500,00 - R6 500,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Pretoria, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
