A big energy company based in Pretoria is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team ASAP

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Completed accounting diploma (course not shorter than 24 months) from an accredited and reputable training establishment; or
- Completed bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Minimum of 4-years previous full function booking experience (limited functionality such as debtors’ clerk or creditors clerk only, will not be considered compliant).
- Familiar with Quickbooks.
- Registered with recognized professional body

**Experience**:

- Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, ensure legal requirements compliance.
- Develop system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts, defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Adhere to existing policies and procedures.
- Manage stock, control inventory movement, invoicing and payment of creditors.
- Manage stock take at least a month and reconcile to general ledger prior to submitting monthly management reports.
- Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating and posting transactions
- Balance subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries
- Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Maintain historical records by filing documents.
- Prepare financial reports and monthly management reports by collecting, analysing and summarising account information and trends.
- Monthly management reports based on reconciled trial balance which must consist of: a. Statement of income and expenditure
- Statement of financial position (balance sheet)
- ash-flow statement with explanatory notes of moves against budgets
- Debtors and creditors age analysis
- Comply with Statutory requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing reports, advising management on needed actions.
- Prepare bi-monthly VAT returns and annual working papers for the auditors.
- Contributing to over-all success of the business by co-ordinated alignment with business operations.
