Relief Host

A unique opportunity exists for a relief manager / host to travel between our properties in the Western Cape to assist with operational requirements.

You will be passionate about travel and have your own reliable transport and valid driver's license.

The main purpose of the position is to relieve other host managers when they are off or venues are very busy as per operational requirements.

Hotels are located in Camps Bay, Hermanus, Langebaan and Knysna

Host/Duty Manager Responsibilities include overseeing daily front desk operations, ensuring employee productivity, monitoring efficiency of all processes and creating a positive work environment for employees. You will also meet regularly with upper management to stay up-to-date with organizational changes, issues and improvements. Ultimately, to ensure all operations flow smoothly and help us meet our company goals.

Minimum Requirements:

- Matric
- Hotel Management diploma / certificate (advantageous)
- At least 2 - 5 years experience, with emphasis on Front Office department
- Food and Beverage knowledge advantageous
- Working knowledge of the hotel operations
- OPERA

Main duties of the position
- Travel between various hotels in the portfolio
- Relieve other hosts / managers as per operational requirements
- Ensure outstanding service to guests at all times
- Answer questions and enquiries from guests and make bookings on the OPERA system
- Respond to queries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns
- Use upselling techniques to maximise room revenue
- Train staff
- Supervise daily shift process
- Resolve customer queries, complaints
- Assist all departments in servicing the guests, especially during peak periods
- Daily property walks to resolve maintenance issues
- Hotel Membership hosting
- Month end account managment
- Recommend local tourist spots, including places to dine, shop and see
- Any other duties assigned to you as per operational requirements.
