**Forensic Investigations Officer**

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or three-year diploma.
- Relevant professional certification.
- 3-5 years’ experience within the field of forensics field.
- Experience in higher education will be an added advantage.

1.1.1 Tracking of all whistleblowing cases received from various sources, viz. the external service provider who administers the whistleblowing hotline, the staff and management, as well as external stakeholders.

1.1.2 Conducting preliminary investigations on all cases and, depending on merit. This includes gathering pertinent information, and analysing it against policies, procedures as well as processes of the Client.

1.1.3 Facilitate the process of sourcing an external services provider that will undertake a full investigation into some of the cases. This includes:

- Drafting terms of reference to be circulated to potential service providers.
- Undertaking an evaluation of their bids, in close conjunction with Procurement.

1.1.4 Facilitate the process of socialising fraud risk management initiatives across the Client. This includes undertaking a post-mortem on critical cases in an effort to diagnose the root-cause of control environment failures, and how these could be prevented moving forward.

1.1.5 Facilitate fraud, bribery and corruption focused training and awareness sessions across the Client. This includes sharing the lessons learned from previously reported cases

1.1.6 Providing professional advice to staff on any matters that fall on the grey territory, doing so in an effort to proactively mitigate against any fraud-committing related activities.

1.1.7 Support measures aimed maintaining sound and mutually beneficial relationships between the Client and law enforcement agencies.

1.1.8 Compiling reports that include actionable recommendations, following the completion of each investigation.

1.1.9 Preparing a quarterly report that serves at the EMC and the Audit Committee, respectively. This includes an interpretation of trends punctuating the cases arising across the Client, as well as strategic and operational interventions to be considered for strengthening the CLIENT control environment.

1.1.10 Facilitating the process of annual performance evaluation of forensic service providers, in conjunction with Procurement.
