This role calls for a hands-on writer who is a strategic thinker as this role is an 80% writing, 20% strategy split.
The Content Writer will also create and implement content strategies. You’ll be managing retention strategies across multiple platforms. With a ‘plan, analyse, adjust, and report’ focus, you will be responsible for supporting the Marketing plan by developing and implementing the content strategy. This role deals directly with the Director of Marketing, Head of Digital, Hotel General Managers and external agencies for Brand, PR and Digital.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop, execute, monitor, and continuously update the strategies to keep the multi-channel customer interaction optimised
- Oversees various systems that strengthen the communication between the business and its customers
- Management of content on all platforms that the company advertises on such as TravelInfo and South African Tourism
- Planning and managing photographic and videography shoots
- Concept and roll out of various hotel activations e.g., brand specific events and F&B activations
- Co-ordination of all collateral across the group (in room; online; and our partners)
- Website and App testing - checking content daily and updating information
- Coordination of content for all mailers and managing the CRM platform from a Marketing perspective
- Concept and implementation of Sales Toolkits e.g., Activations and promotions, e-flyers, and other workshop materials
- Co-ordination between Sales Managers + Design studio and Sales Support
- Ad hoc Project Support: e.g.: new hotel openings; Sales team launches; New uniforms; signage; menus
- Co-ordination between our partnerships and sponsorships
- Marketing Admin: generating PO’s; approving/tracking quotes; follow ups with Finance team and co-ordinating payment. Capturing on marketing budget.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma/Degree in Journalism; English, Copywriting; PR; Digital Marketing
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Content management and/or digital environments
- An excellent command of the English language (writing, editing, proofreading)
- Extensive knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS)
- HTML, CSS, and other coding languages would be advantageous
- Experience in web publishing and blog platforms e.g.: WordPress
- Experience in managing CRM systems e.g.: HubSpot, Pipedrive or Freshworks
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Strategic planning
- Data analysis
- Content management proficiency
- Attention to detail is essential
- Multi-tasking and project managing several jobs at once
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Driver’s license and own transport - essential
- Occasional out of town travel required.
