Group Reservationist

This well-established, high-volume hotel is seeking to appoint a Group Reservationist. Reporting directly to the Reservations Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Managing and coordinating the pre-arrival stage of group reservations across all channels; ensuring maximizing materialization of call-in accommodation. (Action rooming lists, profiling, handovers, pre-con meetings, billing, block notes and invoices, and promptly processes any modifications and cancellations.)
- Ensuring all payments are received timeously and posting payments accordingly.
- Bringing attention to the Reservations Manager of any discrepancies as well as additional or deficit in rooms picked up. Managing release dates in accordance with the contract. Following up with the Meeting & Events Co-ordinator with regards to rooming lists due.
- Attending Pre-con and Debrief Meetings to ensure we are meeting our clients’ needs and receiving feedback from them.
- Preparing a detailed and thorough group handover of group arrivals, with special requests and VIPs for the front office teams prior to arrival.
- Has detailed knowledge of the type of rooms the hotel has, as well as their location and layout.
- Works as part of a team that exceeds and maximizes guest satisfaction, delivering a positive and timely response to guest inquiries and problem resolution.
- Takes responsibility for the duties and tasks assigned to the role, ensuring that all work is carried out in a timely and professional manner.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with all departments and clients whilst promoting the company's core values.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:

- Hotel school qualification required.
- Minimum 1 year Hotel Group Reservations experience.
- Experience in Opera PMS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence.
