Essential that you have a tertiary qualification and research and quality experience. Due to our clients' Equity Plan, preference will be given to African males or females

Key Result Areas:
Management of staff
- Ensuring that laboratory duties are performed according to schedule and accurately
- Conduct staff training and assess their competency.
- Verify daily calculations and ensure the correct information is recorded on the respective quality forms.
- Ensuring that outsourced analyses and client samples are organised and sent timeously by the lab.

Chemistry and Microbiology
- Ensure accurate chemical analysis is performed by lab staff, including Brix, Titratable Acidity, pH, Pulp, Total Chlorophyll, Ash, Colour, Lactic Acid, Cloud Stability (shelf-life testing), and as well as calculation of Brix acid ratio.
- Ensure accurate microbiological analysis, including Total Plate Count, Coliform, and Yeast and Mould, on various samples such as Pineapple Juice Concentrate, CIP water samples, and environmental monitoring samples.
- Chemistry and microbiological Research and development.

Servicing and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Schedule annual servicing of all laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure that they are working properly at all times.
- Schedule the daily and weekly calibration of all laboratory instruments and equipment to always ensure the accuracy and precision of laboratory testing.

Administration
- Checking Daily Quality Assurance Reports in which all non-conformances and deviations from the standards are recorded.
- Ensure that QA forms are completed correctly and signed off by the quality controller and that the Senior Analyst has verified them.
- Ensuring stock control of all instruments, equipment, chemicals and consumables of the laboratory. Ordering lab supplies according to budget and lab requirements.
- Isolate and/or reject products not in conformance with specifications

Maintain an archive of keeping quality samples from each batch of production for the duration of the shelf life period.
