Plant Supervisor

Situated in Merebank, Durban, the successful incumbent will be responsible to implement and maintain procedures, to correct or resolve deviations in work standards, performance and conduct. To ensure that the treatment plant is operating optimally for plant performance and demand. Plan, lead, organize and control all aspects of the functioning of the Operations team.
Main Duties Include:
- Ensure proper monitoring, maintenance, recording and upkeep of all plant and equipment registers and plant logbooks
- Report performance outcomes of subordinates, suppliers and sub-contractors
- Adhere to all SHE procedures and legislation and assist with incident investigations
- Report hazards, spills, First Aid and incidents
- Inspect tools, maintain tool register
- Ensure strict adherence to OHSA
- Report power failures, breakdowns and noise of equipment, follow up on maintenance activities
- Arrange and manage sub-contractors related maintenance activities and Job Cards
- Program and implement operational maintenance activities
- Assist with regulatory and contractual audits. Draft and review SWP/SOP
- Compile risk report and partake in operational risk assessments
- Evaluate and report on existing process optimization opportunities
- Analyze production volumes and consumption levels and suggest improvements
- Assist the Operations & Services Manager
- Manage and support all aspects of the plant team including work schedules and HR
- Execute and manage all site related financial and procurements tasks
Criteria:
- Grade 12 plus Math and Physical Science
- B Tech/ND Process/Chemical Engineering
- NQF 4 or NQF 5 Operator Certificate in Water and Waste Treatment
- Minimum 5 years related experience
- Must have a strong working knowledge of treatment technologies
- Understand and implement operational manuals for treatment plants
- Be willing to work standby, overtime, shutdowns as required
- Valid Driver's Licence

**Salary**: R25,000.00 - R28,000.00 per month
