**Description**:
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that good laboratory practices are followed, quality testing is conducted and reported, and to take full responsibility for the handling and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for verification of routine QC performed before and after crushing and refining of edible oils.
- Ensure that the detail on the Load Sheet is transferred correctly to the documents that accompany each.
- Ensure the correct calculation of quantities of antioxidants and anti-foam are recorded on the load sheets.
- Ensure that each customer has a fully and correctly completed Test Report.
- Responsible for operating sensitive laboratory equipment.
- Daily and weekly verification checks in the Laboratory.
- Inspection of goods received and raw materials.
- Management of retainer and shelf life samples.
- Preparation of chemical solutions and standards.
- Sample preparation from Set Test Methods.
- Strict adherence to Laboratory Rules and Regulations.
- Involvement with all Laboratory projects for Production.
- Perform Sensory Evaluations as per final oil and mayonnaise batches.
- Assist in the training and verifying of new Laboratory trainees.
- Ensure continuous housekeeping within the Laboratory.
- Handling and monitoring Critical Control Points and Operational Prerequisite Plans.

**Health and Safety**
- Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks.
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management.
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people.
- Attend safety education and refresher programmes.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill.
- Distribute safety information as and when required.
- Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times.

**Requirements**:
**Qualification and Experience**
- Minimum - National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or other related Science
- BSc Degree in Chemistry or Food Sciences will be an advantage.
- Previous laboratory experience will be an advantage.
