Factory Operations Manager

**Roles, Accountabilities & Responsibilities**:

- Communicates and aligns the operations capabilities in support of and contributing to the overall company strategic direction.
- Accountable for the factory operations strategic plan
- Accountable for the factory administration & performance reporting
- Accountable for the reliable, effective, optimised, and efficient operation of the manufacturing operations including Asset Management and Operations Excellence
- Accountable for supply chain management of feedstock and finished product availability.
- Accountable of all the factory related service level contracts.
- Accountable that the Product quality management systems are upheld, and ISO standards are maintained.
- Is the appointed Environmental Manager for the factory responsible for ensuring all environmental regulations are complied with and the retention of IOS14001 accreditation?
- Is the OSH Act 16(2) appointee.
- Responsible for the Health and Safety within the factory
- Accountable for effective communication with government departments and local communities
- Accountable for the generation of daily, weekly, monthly performance and OPEX reports
- Accountable for the effective management of all working systems

- Leadership: must display strong leadership skills, and an ability to effectively manage, lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team
- Strategy: think strategically, be open to new ideas, manage innovation
- Financial management: Ability to set operating budgets, control operations in line with the budgets and understand the drivers behind cost of sales. Able to evaluate and justify economically feasible spends against IRR and NPV.
- Excellent operations management initiatives, e.g., Reliability Centred Maintenance, Lean Six, Sigma, etc.
- Results driven - proven ability to achieve targets within required timeframes.
- Decision-making skills: must have superior decision-making skills based on sound principles and 1st principles thinking.
- Delegation: Must have the ability to delegate and monitor outcomes effectively
- Discipline: demonstrated ability to chair hearings in a fair and consistent manner.
- OHSACT: an excellent working knowledge of SA laws.
- Communication: Influencing skills with the ability to resolve issues, build consensus and have proven skill in negotiating and mediating conflict
- Essential: Own reliable transport

**Salary**: From R1,500,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Bachelors (required)

**Experience**:

- operations managing: 10 years (preferred)
