We are looking for a freelance journalist who is passionate about covering current affairs, media and entertainment. The freelance journalist will host a weekly podcast show as well as well as submit at least one piece per week.

The weekly podcast show is the primary deliverable. The podcast delves into what's happening in South Africa and locally sourced news topics and entertainment.

**Duties/Skills**

Host a weekly podcast show, interview guests and other writers, journalists and personalities

Work with freelance writers and producer

Cover three to four stories per podcast episode

We estimate each assignment to take approximately 10 to 12 hours a week depending on experience.

Research topics, stories, and feature guests.

Work cooperatively with journalists at associate media houses based in South Africa and locally in Johannesburg

Maintain an active presence in the media industry and regularly attend media events

**Requirements**:
Motivated and deadline-driven

Committed to creating original and engaging content

Possesses strong communication skills

Highly proficient at research through authoritative and up-to-date sources

Minimum national diploma or degree in journalism or communications media or equivalent. No exceptions

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: R4,000.00 - R6,000.00 per month
