5* Hotel and Vineyard in the Franschhoek area is looking for a Junior Bookkeeper. The Bookkeeper will perform a variety of bookkeeping and financial tasks for the Hotel, Vineyard and Winery with a focus on processes pertaining to procurement/purchasing of stock & non-stock items along with the recording and reconciliation thereof. This function will develop as financial systems evolve and overall bookkeeping skills within a team environment will be essential in ensuring growth and successful functioning of the accounts department.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounts receivable and payable.
- Degree or relevant certification is a plus
- Experience in the hospitality industry is an advantage
- Sound understanding of reconciling and analysing general and subsidiary ledgers
- Sound experience in Debtors and Creditors reconciliation to ledgers
- Ability to reconcile stock valuations
- Competency in MS Office, database and accounting software (we use Sage X3)
- Understanding of foreign currency and filing systems
- High level of accuracy when recording/capturing of information
- Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
- Driver’s license with own transport
