- The objective is to guide our governmentalrelations for our HUB Africa - with a special focus on South Africa - relatedto our regulatory and business objectives in close collaboration with our SubRegions, our Countries as well as the Business Areas and Corporate Functions.
- Seen as a trusted partner to governments, your willaim at creating unique value to achieve positive business impact and at thesame time achieve societal improvements in the region.
- You will be responsible of taking the lead ofkey work packages in large energy transition projects. Jointly with businessesand countries you will analyse strategies and infrastructure opportunities inAfrican countries, seek the dialogue with the government institutions as wellas donor countries and agencies, evaluate financing instruments and developmentcooperation to advise businesses and countries accordingly.
- To this end, it is your mission to engage inand strengthen relations proactively with governments, embassies, financialinstitutions, associations, and other institutions.
- Your role requests a special focus on the South African energylandscape amongst others and accordingly to be a trusted partner to governmentswhilst developing a deep understanding of the transitional political processesand the associated business opportunities to guide our businesses.
- Your responsibility includes that youcontinuously add to and improve our advisory and outreach approach and activelysupport colleagues with expertise towards the global government affairs team.

**What YouBring**
- Bachelor'sdegree from an accredited college/university
- At-least 5+years of HR management/leadership experience. Ability to successfully aligningthe People strategy to business strategy
- You have an excellent university degree in business administration, law,political science, engineering, international relations and / or equivalent
- As an expert you have at least 5 years’ experience in a similargovernment affairs role in South Africa. A profound understanding of theAfrican countries and a solid understanding of the Just Energy Transition withthe respective network to the political & funding institutions togetherwith a proven regional track record preferably in one or more African countriesis a must have for this role.
- Due to your experience in international affairs, you are able to giveprofound guidance on the geopolitical interests and policies of governments, aswell as preferably a profound network in South Africa and/or African relatedinternational governmental or financing institutions
- Ideally, your line of expertise also covers financing instrumentsoffered by governments and / or international institutions
- To create impact, you bring strong communication skills and an excellentability to align internal and external interests
- Able to work independently within guidelines and policies and adhere tothe corporate policies and procedures. Ability to work successfully underpressure
- Familiar with business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, andPowerPoint. Flexibility to travel for business as required Excellent fluency inEnglish is essential, while other language skills are desirable
