**Role**:

- To provide overall management of SAVP to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the Company
- To provide strategic guidance and utilize technology and pharmaceutical specific knowledge to produce quality products to supply an effective product to customers
- To oversee the current Good Manufacturing Practice quality and operational systems of SAVP to ensure that products produced meet required standards
- To advise, liaise and consult with international bodies (WHO), customers and suppliers to deal with queries and provide input into guidelines and policies
- To manage client relationships to promote the image and products of the division in line with organizational and customer needs
- To manage the operational budget and capex requirements to ensure the adequate planning of resources
- To ensure that ethics and integrity and relevant requirements are adhered to and that batches sold meet specifications to protect the customer

**Minimum requirements & key competency**:

- 4-year degree/diploma in Pharmacy (B. Pharm)
- Registration with South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist
- Registration as Pharmacist
- 9 years post-qualification experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
- 2 years Sterile manufacturing experience (desirable)
- Knowledge of OHSA
- Knowledge of general accounting and finance practices
- Knowledge of SA Pharmacy Council and Medicine Control Council requirements
- Knowledge of company and products produced
- Knowledge of sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Validation knowledge
- Knowledge of THE COMPANY finance and budget processes and procedures (desirable)
