**Parliamentary Advisor**

**Job Type: Part-Time/Independent**

**Location: South Africa, Cape Town**

The Green Connection (GC) is an environmental and social justice organization, striving for eco-justice, community empowerment, and resource advocacy. GC is running a ‘Who Stole Our Oceans’campaign, which aims to protect the ocean by opposing offshore oil and gas developments and informing coastal communities about the negative impacts of Operation Phakisa (specifically offshore oil and gas projects)..

We are looking for someone based in Cape Town and passionate about democracy and ecojustice.

**Qualifications**:
Graduate or equivalent experience in the energy sector

**Responsibilities**

Attendance at Parliamentary Committee meetings that have strategic importance to GC with the aim to provide accurate records, and current information on such parliamentary meetings activities.

Provide GC with relevant committee documents such as notice of public hearings, public submissions, working drafts of bills and briefings on oversight, policy & legislation.

Liaise with members of parliament and parliamentary administrative staff to further the aims of the campaign.

**Experience and Skills**:
Minimum 3 years Civil Society Sector with extensive report writing and minute-taking experience.
