**Job Advert Summary**:
**Purpose of the position**:
The PBPA is responsible for strengthening pharmaceutical healthcare services and providing direct service delivery at district facility level. The primary responsibility is to support the Differentiated Care Pharmaceutical Services component of the Central Chronic Medicine Dispensing and Distribution Programme (CCMDD), and the secondary responsibility is to support stock management at facility level. The incumbent will report primarily to the CCMDD Coordinator, and secondarily to the CCMDD Manager.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
- Driver's license
- Ability to speak isiXhosa or/and English or any other South African language

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Support the CCMDD programme by ensuring that appropriate CCMDD tools are deployed in focus facilities in support of the program.
- Verify CCMDD Service Provider data against statistics at the facility level.
- Monitor the implementation of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and evaluation of performance of contracted CCMDD Service Provider and Pick-up Points.
- Support the implementation of corrective pharmaceutical actions in cooperation with the CCMDD Coordinator, facility staff and the project team.
- Relationship management and on-going liaison with contracted CCMDD Service Provider and district stakeholders, as well as close collaboration with other project teams within the district.
- Work with CCMDD contracted Service Provider to monitor and eliminate or reduce script rejections.
- Work with Community Based Organisations (CBOs) to support the CCMDD programme to ensure that all applicable pharmacy rules and regulations are adhered to at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the SyNCH Project to support the CCMDD programme.
- Work with the contracted Service Provider to support both the internal and external Pick-up-Points (iPuPs and ePuPs).
- Weekly project reporting and supporting facilities to report on monthly basis on CCMDD indicators.
- Rendering comprehensive pharmacy support, including stockouts monitoring, expired stock monitoring and especially the District Differentiated Care program.
- Ensure continuous availability of medicine to patients by using proper stock management, ordering and receipt methods.
- Render direct service delivery (DSD) at the provincial depot when necessary, identify and facilitate re-distribution of stock.
- Conduct informal training, mentoring and support of the facility staff and district team as well as participation in the development of training tools. Work under supervision of the CCMDD Coordinator.
