**Key Performance Areas**:

- ** Strategy and funding**
- Device financial strategies in terms of operational budgets, capital management, cash flow and investment plans in alignment with the companys strategic objectives
- Advice the CEO and Board to ensure optimal structuring of the balance sheet
- Contribute to the activities of the funding stream by providing insight on the companys financial performance and preparing supporting information for funding purposes
- Continuously consider the impact of external factors such as regulatory requirements, market conditions and financial market movement on the companys financial position
- Conduct scenario planning and forecast the impact of the different scenarios on the organisations financial sustainability
- Make recommendations to Exco and the Board on changes required in the financial and business plans to position the organisation to be sustainable and profitable
- Support the business with the determination of long terms product pricing by analysing profitability levels, break-even points and utilizing likely sales volume forecasting. Advise the teams on more appropriate pricing strategies or cost control measures to optimise profitability levels
- Modelling of all capital expenditure and operational projects to ensure adequate returns within the organisations guidelines are met
- Determine the working capital requirement of the business and secure a working capital facility
- Ensure debt covenants and funding conditions are continuously assessed and honored
- Secure funding for new projects
- ** Financial management and controls**
- Understand the company business model for generating customer value and translate the operational metrics into measures for performance
- As a business partner to the Exco. assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company long-term strategy. Develops tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendation on both strategy and operations
- ** Governance and Risk Management**- Ensure optimal internal controls are in place and maintained, and are effectively aligned with auditing and control
- Drive governance and sound business ethics throughout the organisation and a culture of integrity and honesty
- Oversee and lead in the development and monitoring of the implementation of finance policies and procedures in line with the Companies Act, banking covenants, and internal guidelines
- Oversee the development of policy and procedure manuals to ensure effective management of finance, working capital and capital expenditure
- Be the companys Risk Champion
- Effectively project manage the audit process to ensure a quality audit and on time completion
- Oversee the preparation of information for the annual audit
- Proactively engage with auditors and provide appropriate and timely responses to audit queries
- Ensuring all statutory requirements of the organization are met
- ** Budgets and Forecasting**
- Manage the cash flow position throughout the company overseeing cash flow planning and availability of funds as needed
- Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes cash threshold to meet operating needs, borrowing repayments and covenant requirements optimizes the relationship with funders and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions
- Define budget guidelines together with the CEO and shareholders. Drive the annual budgeting process. Define budget dates and the consolidation of the budgets
- Coordinate the development and monitoring of the budget ensuring that these align with the company strategies and shareholder requirements
- Develop and utilise forward-looking predictive financial analysis to provide insight into the operations and business plans
- Engage with members of the business to support their development of the budget in line with the budget guidelines. Advise on appropriate focus areas
- Review and recommend the budget for approval (operational and capital budgets) prior to submission to the Exco and the Board and applicable Board Committees
- Review the audit findings prior to the publication of the findings or the financial reports. Coordinate the resolution of any adverse findings or recommendations related to financial controls
- Maintain the financial model used as key model for funding and key customer pricing decision making
- ** Leadership**
- Lead the finance team to achieve a sound financial control environment providing full end-to-end financial service delivery
- ** Stakeholder Relationships**
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with funders, consultants, financial analysts, and shareholders in conjunction with the CEO
- Represents the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, suppliers, investors, auditors, consultants, SARS

Qualifications & Experience:

- Registered CA(SA)
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar role
