Junior Electrician

Our Client in the Technology industry is looking for a Junior Electrician to join their team.

**Job Summary**:
The Junior Electrician specializing in Backup Power Installations is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of backup power systems, such as generators, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) units, and related electrical equipment. The Junior Electrician will work under the guidance of a senior electrician or supervisor to ensure that backup power systems are installed correctly and function reliably during power outages.

**Responsibilities**:
Backup Power System Installation:
Assist in the installation of backup power systems, including generators, UPS units, transfer switches, and associated electrical components.

Follow electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure accurate and safe installations.

Collaborate with the senior electrician or supervisor to plan and execute installation projects within defined timelines.

Perform wiring, conduit installation, and other electrical tasks necessary for backup power system installations.

Maintenance and Repairs:
Support the senior electrician or supervisor in performing routine maintenance tasks on backup power systems to ensure optimal performance.

Conduct inspections and tests of backup power equipment to identify and troubleshoot any issues or potential problems.

Assist in repairing or replacing faulty electrical components, such as breakers, fuses, wiring, and connectors.

Follow safety protocols and regulations while working on backup power systems to minimize risks and hazards.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of backup power system installations, repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment inventory.

Document work performed, including detailed notes, diagrams, and test results, to ensure a comprehensive record of activities.

Prepare reports on maintenance activities, including findings, recommendations, and any required follow-up actions.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or relevant vocational training is preferred.

Basic knowledge of electrical principles, codes, and safety practices.

Familiarity with backup power systems, such as generators, UPS units, and transfer switches, is a plus.

Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve electrical issues.

Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and communicate with clients or end-users.

**Salary**: R10,000.00 - R12,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Roodepoort, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
