Director: Sports and Recreation Administration

**DIRECTOR: SPORTS AND RECREATION ADMINISTRATION**

The University of Limpopo is seeking a Director in Sport and Recreation Administrator

to ensure the effective and efficient management, administration, planning, organising,

monitoring, supervision and evaluation of sport recreation in line with the policies and

regulations of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Management of the directorate.
- Development of funding Proposals and collaborate with alumni of the

University.
- Ensures development of Policy and Procedure within the department.
- Be responsible for compliance in relation to Finance and Resources

Management.
- Establish relationship with Sport organisations and federations
- Personnel Development and Management
- Manage Special and Capital projects of the department.
- Liaise with local, national and international bodies.
- Facilitate and monitor the improvement of sport facilities, programmes and

improve student services.
- Provide and create opportunities for students to excel in sport.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:

- NQF Level 9 qualification in Sport Science/ Human Movement Science/

Kinesiology/ Physical Education (an undergraduate degree in any of the fields

is a requirement)
- Sport Coaching Qualifications in at least three sporting codes at provincial

level.

**Experiences**
- A minimum of 8 years in the tertiary education sector of which 1 years must

be in a senior or strategic leadership position.
- Have at least 5 years’ experience in sport management and administration of

which 2 years must be in a tertiary institution.
- Proven coaching and training experience in at least 4 sporting codes.
- Extensive knowledge of sport structures at provincial, national and

international levels.
- Experience in fundraising activities.
- Experience in project management.
- Knowledge and experience in sport facility management
- Have interpersonal relations
- Policy development knowledge and skills.
- Proven leadership skills.
