**What you will be doing?**

The purpose of the Cost Analysis Manager job is to assess business and cost optimization opportunities for Recycle Battery Material’s Upstream supply as well as refining roadmaps and activities. To facilitate this assessment, a benchmark exercise of the technological, economic and commercial angles of these opportunities is needed. Given the rising number of opportunities, support is needed in the economical assessment (i.e. business cases) of future investments/partnerships.

This contains the following elements:

- Competitive watch for RBM Upstream activities by cost analysis, comparison and benchmarking (internal & 3rd party)
- Support business case evaluations of existing and (potential) future refining & compound set-ups (Organic growth & M&A) together with business case implementations as part of the Strategic Ni/Co Supply & Upstream Roadmap
- Cost optimization assessment for RBM global Upstream activities + KPI follow-up & quantification

Main areas of responsibilities are:

- Perform a systematic competitive benchmark and related cost & capability evaluation of both internal operations & 3rd parties in the domain of refining & leaching. This competitive watch/benchmark for RBM’s Upstream activities could be established by:

- Collecting & maintaining the available information (e.g. CAPEX & OPEX figures) internally from existing RBM sites & studies, but also from external sources (e.g. media, external consulting firms, etc.)
- Work together on project basis with Corporate Development and RBM Controlling teams for business case preparation and financial modelling of strategic developments & (non-) organic growth developments (JV, Investment files, M&A, ),

Assist RBM Refining & Supply mgt in the business case presentation to relevant stakeholders & decision makers (BU MT/3th Party Strategic Partners/ MB)
- Provide support to short and long-range Upstream strategic projects/programs for the Business Unit together with Domain managers, Business & Technology Development managers, RBM Supply, RBM Controlling, and other key stakeholders
- Secure business model inputs and map business implications regarding Opex and Capex, interface with the RBM Controlling team to co-evaluate the economic returns.
- Inform the RBM Refining & Supply mgt and General/Plant Managers on cost optimization & operational excellence opportunities, interfacing with RBM’s Operational Controlling function:

- Set-up, implement & maintain cost improvement tracks for (new) refinery & leaching set-ups to reach the defined (RISE2030) targets
- Provide support to the Supply & Operations team to evaluate feed types, optimal processing and planning.
- Have a University Degree (preferably Engineer in Business Administration or Master in Science, with acquired financial skills)
- Have 3 to 5 years of work experience in an international setting, with relevant project management experience
- Are interested in the field of rechargeable battery materials the ambition to continue your career in this field
- Are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and/or Business Intelligence platforms
- Have a safety, quality and environmental mindset to achieve results in an industrial environment.
- Have some experience in business development, cost modelling and/or commercial/marketing is a plus
- Have affinity in (chemical and metallurgical) process is a plus
- Are able to handle high complexity.
- Have proven ability to work at both the strategic and transactional level.
- Have unquestionable integrity. Exhibits a strong work ethic and passion for his/her work.
- Have excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing reliable, high quality work in a timely manner.
- Are a self-starter who can execute.
- Have demonstrated ability to build relationships across a large, matrixed organization.
