**PURPOSE**

Implement tailored and best-fit advice, support and solutions to address municipal challenges in the

area of responsibility. Monitor and guide on legislative, policy and procedural compliance in

municipalities to strengthen the institutional capacity and governance in municipalities.

**POST REQUIREMENTS**
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Bachelors degree in Urban Planning or equivalent Built Environment qualification
- A post graduate degree would be an added advantage
- Valid Drivers Licence
- At least 5 years relevant experience of which at least 1 years have been at an equivalent level within a medium to large sized organisation.
- Demonstrates a sound understanding of Human Settlements and the Local Government Sectors

**Knowledge**

- Sound understanding of policy and legislative frameworks in area of responsibility
- Knowledge of the business and sustainability requirements
- Understanding of project management principles
- Understanding of expense management principles and regulations

**Specialised knowledge**:

Staying abreast of new developments in the human settlement environment

**DECISION MAKING**

**ROLE DIMENSIONS**
**Planning**: Support the development of annual operational plans (aligned to cluster business plans)

and Risk mitigation plans for the area of responsibility

**Financial**:

- Monitors received invoices against service delivery.
- Processes invoices for sign-off and payment to debtors under the supervision of Senior Manager
- Supports the Senior Management in the management of the budget
- Identify and implement cost saving initiates in area of responsibility

**Human Resources**: The Advisor team (Entire career ladder) is a multidimensional and integrated team and is led by a Portfolio Head. Leadership takes place at peer level and more junior
