**ABOUT UMICORE**

In line with the Umicore “Let’s go For Zero” ambitions, an optimal health of its workforce and contractors is of strategic importance to Umicore as a condition to achieve its ambitious business goals as defined in the “RISE 2030” strategy. Occupational health is defined in its broad sense and includes, besides occupational medicine also wellbeing, psychosocial aspects, 1st aid - emergency preparedness at work.

Besides the focus on occupational health, the necessary attention is given to promotion of general health among the workforce.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**

The occupational health team consists of an occupational physician working together with 12 nurses and its administrative support. This team in Hoboken looks after some 1,900 employees and several thousands more contractors every year.

As the head of the occupational health department you fulfill a critical role, together with the current team, to define, implement, execute and maintain an occupational health policies and programs in line with the occupational health risks, the needs at this site and the regulatory requirements.

You will define the priorities for the department and proposes and follows-up on the annual budget.

You monitor scientific and regulatory developments in the occupational health area relevant to Umicore, assessing the impact on its operations and proposing risk management options.

As head, you contribute to the site Prevention & Protection department to achieve a zero-harm working environment.

You have to ensure an effective management and organization of the occupational health department.

Another important task is to develop a communication approach to interact in an effective and transparent way with your stakeholders like management teams, head of services, unions etc.

You support an optimal social environment at the site.

You will report to the Group Director Health and Wellbeing at Corporate EHS.

You will be located in at the Umicore site in Hoboken.

**WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- You acquired a degree in medicine with specialization in occupational health - certified to perform the function of occupational doctor according to Belgian legislation;
- Dutch-speaking, professional English proficiency;
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in a complex industrial environment;
- You have a solid understanding of risk management tools;
