National Sales Manager: Retail Affluent: Sanlam

The Sanlam Retail Affluent business (SRA) is dedicated to empower South Africans in the middle
- and upper-income segments to be financially confident, secure and prosperous. With deep client understanding and a focus on excellence in technology, client and intermediary experiences, SRA delivers financial solutions including comprehensive financial planning, life
- and disability insurance, credit solutions, savings and investments, retirement and fiduciary services that can be accessed through various platforms. What will you do?
**Outputs/Core Tasks**:
- Develop and implement a multi-channel sales strategy covering:
- Intermediaries [SanlamConnect (i.e. Sanlam’s retail distribution force) and Brokers].
- Various Bluestar franchises (traditional B*; MO B*; etc).
- Support and manage a team of Business Development Managers to:
- Market fiduciary products to all stakeholders.
- Support stakeholders in their practice.
- Promote and educate stakeholders on Sanlam Fiduciary Services’ value proposition and products.
- Build partnering relationships.
- Develop and implement sales strategy covering Intermediaries and Business Consultants.
- Prepare and plan for stakeholder engagements/relationships.
- Assist Business Development Managers to provide support to SanlamConnect Management and Consultants by enabling their stakeholders in growing the fiduciary offering in their practices.
- Drive fiduciary offering within the SanlamConnect environment.
- Assist Business Development Managers to facilitate effective capacity building activities and sound relationship building partnerships with Brokers/Broker Secretaries.
- Manage the budget of Business Development Managers.
- Ensure Sanlam Trust is well positioned within the SanlamConnect and direct space.
- Ensure that all Intermediary channels are adequately trained.
- Manage research in SanlamConnect to ensure Sanlam Trust designs compelling CVPs and continuously improves on it:
- Including working with partners like the Client Experience teams to manage and co-ordinate the various intermediary/client/beneficiary experience surveys and other research.
- Ensure production, reporting and analysis of sales data.
- Implement projects to support the sales strategy.
- Develop management information and reports for stakeholders.
- Ensure Sanlam Trust is correctly positioned and marketed to distribution channels by promoting the program through various channels including Broker Consultants, roadshows and direct interactions with sales staff.
- Build presentations and conduct engagements.
- Promote the Intermediary and client value proposition.
- Ensure that all distribution channels are adequately trained including SanlamConnect and Brokers.
- Manage research in distribution channels to ensure Sanlam Trust continuously improves product design and delivery.
- Build and maintain sound stakeholder relationships with various departments within Sanlam Trust; SanlamConnect; and other Businesses (e.g. Needs Bus) within broader Sanlam Group in order to ensure ease of doing business (EoDB) with Sanlam Trust, including sales support and facilitating resolution of queries and complaints.
- Formulate and ensure compliance with sales policies, practices, procedures and processes.
- Manage quality controls for the sales function. What will make you successful in this role?

**Qualifications**:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Commercial.
CFP qualification will be an advantage.
**Experience**:
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity.
Proven sales related success and track record.
Experience in building client and intermediary value propositions.
Experience in supporting and development of intermediary practices will be an advantage.
Sales management experience in the Financial Services industry will be an advantage.
**Knowledge**:
Knowledge of budgeting and forecasts.
Knowledge of Retail Insurance (especially risk) distribution and financial planning.
