Handyman

Siqalo Foods a sister company of RCL Foods is seeking the services of a **Handyman **to be based in Boksburg and report to the Engineering Superintendent.

The purpose of this role is to provide support to Engineering Superintendent and Site Service Technician to execute various building maintenance and site service tasks. The responsibility of the role includes electrical, mechanical, plumbing and general maintenance.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Storage and Maintenance of Tools**

Ensure that all special tools and equipment are kept safe and in good working condition as well as updating the tool register

Monitor that power tools, hand tools, ladders, lifting equipment and maintenance equipment are kept in good working condition and stored safely

Report broken tools/equipment to the Engineering Superintendent and, where possible repair broken maintenance tools

Perform duties as per requirements to eliminate downtime and eliminate hazards/safety issues

**General Repairs and Maintenance**

Conducting routine maintenance as well as preventative and planned maintenance activities such as:
Replace faulty globes and tubes and safe disposal thereof

Repair and/or replace electrical equipment (where qualified to)

Fix any safety hazards

High pressure cleaning of equipment, buildings and structure when necessary

Move, assemble and repair furniture and other office equipment

Install appliances and machinery

Carryout plumbing which included inspections and repairs of taps, toilets, drains, sinks, wash basins, urinals, bottle traps and pipes

Carpentry work

**General assistance to facilities staff**

Meter reading

Fridge and incubator temperature recording

Manage and maintain own toolbox

Maintain workshop and stores

Movement (Portage) of goods and materials

Cleaning of the premises after maintenance

Assisting Artisans where needed

Assist with adhoc projects and work

**Minimum Requirements**:
Completed an N3 or equivalent (trades related)

Balance of ± 40% Electrical and 60% Mechanical

2-3 years’ in mechanical, electrical and plumbing experience within a similar role

Drivers licence
