Salesforce Architect

The Salesforce Architect role in Johannesburg - Hybrid, is a critical position within the Salesforce ecosystem responsible for ensuring the quality, on-time delivery, and uptime of solutions developed on the Salesforce platform. You require a deep understanding of the Salesforce product suite, systems architecture, design patterns, and development technologies. You will be responsible for crafting scalable, performance-driven solutions, setting quality design standards, and continuously researching best practices related to systems development. You require a minimum of 8 years of CRM experience, with at least 6 years on the Salesforce platform, and active Salesforce certifications. You should also have experience in software product lifecycle exposure, team leadership, and be willing to work overtime and be available on standby when required.

**Responsibilities**

**1.** **Quality**
- **Responsible for the drafting of Technical Specifications, design and test plans for the client engagement environment**
- Responsible for ensuring a thorough understanding of the Functional Description (business spec)
- Responsible for document the critical success deliverables for technical implementation
- Responsible for the compilation of comprehensive technical specifications
- Design technical test plans and provide guidelines to facilitate performance and stress testing
- Responsible to obtain Technical Specification sign-off before hand-over to Development Team
- Level 1: Peer Architects
- Level 2: Peer Architects & Design Manager: EDC
- Level 3: Design Manager and Risk, EBF, IA
- Continuously liaise with development team to ensure delivery according to specifications
- **Peer review of technical specifications, design, and test plans drafted by others across the company and external vendors**
- Review and provide input on relevant technical specifications, designs and test plans
- **Research & Development**
- Continuous research on best practices related to systems development, architectural and design patterns & principles.
- Set quality design standards for development/architecture
- Critically review/evaluate new technologies/security principles
- Responsible for continuous improvement of current systems

**2.** **On-time delivery**
- Responsible for the delivery of a signed-off technical specification (includes design documentation & test plans) at agreed deadline (end of ripening iteration)
- Responsible for providing input during the sizing of the tasks

**3.** **Uptime**
- Responsible for the constant performance and uptime of all relevant solutions
- Responsible for providing input and guidance during support and production incidents
- Responsible for enabling the monitoring, management and scalability.

**Requirements**:

- Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role.
- 8+ years CRM experience with a minimum of 6 years on the Salesforce platform.
- Understanding of the Salesforce product suite, including Sales, Service, Community, Marketing, and Community Clouds.
- Understanding of systems architecture and ability to craft scalable performance-driven solutions.
- Understanding of key design patterns and large data volume limitations and standard methodologies.
- Understanding of data sharing and visible considerations and how these play into platform architecture.
- Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth).
- Knowledge of data integration tools and experience integrating Salesforce with different business systems (FSC, ETL, marketing automation, reporting, etc.)
- Solid understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning standard processes, and deployment methodologies.
- Experience with platform security capabilities (TLS, SSL).
- Experience defining the system architecture landscape, identifying gaps between current and desired end
- states, and delivering a comprehensive solution that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes
- Solid background in design/development of large web-based systems, or complete software product lifecycle exposure.
- Active Salesforce certifications
