Farm Maintenance Manager

**Established crop producer, based in Tarlton, Johannesburg, is looking for an experienced Farm equipment Maintenance Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance operations on the farm. The primary objective is to ensure that all farm machinery, equipment, buildings, and infrastructure are well-maintained and in good working condition to support the farm's productivity and efficiency. Relevant qualification and minimum 5 years experience in farm equipment maintenance required.**

**Requirements**:

- Agricultural/Mechanical/Maintenance qualification/degree
- At least 5 years previous experience in farm maintenance
- Proven experience in maintaining the following (mechanical, electrical, technical):

- General maintenance
- Electrical (Pivots & Pump motors)
- Welding
- Pumps (Installation, Repairs, Alignments)
- Servicing of tractors
- Extensive repair and maintenance knowledge of farm equipment including tillage machinery, planters, sprayers, harvesters, and irrigation equipment.
- 5 Years leadership and management experience.
- Valid Driver's License
- Outdoor work.
- Good mobility to ensure access to hard-to-reach areas.
- Should be able to operate farm machinery without restriction.
- Should be willing and able to travel to other sites.

**Duties**:

- Supervising and leading all maintenance processes and operations.
- Operational commissioning and setting of all Equipment and upholding standards.
- Tracking expenses and overseeing the budget for maintenance.
- Maintaining all machinery to ensure it’s at working standards.
- Upholding CILT standards.
- Developing and Executing Preventative Maintenance schedules.
- Creating and implementing maintenance procedures.
- Conducting regular inspections of the farming equipment to detect and resolve problems.
- Planning and managing all repair and installation activities.
- Ensuring all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
- Assigning repair schedules and evaluating repair cost estimates.
- Documenting and preparing daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Overseeing equipment stock and placing orders for new supplies when necessary.
- Health and Safety Compliance.
- Managing a team of maintenance staff, providing guidance, assigning tasks, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Management of farm security.
- Root cause analysis Evaluations.
- Management and Upkeep of harvesting team and machinery.
