**Looking to fill a position for a Foundation Phase Teacher. We are a small but nimble school with teachers that wear multiple hats.**

Crosspoint Academy - NPO, is a WCED certified, low-fee independent Christian school serving Strand, Gordan’s Bay, Nomzamo, Lwandle, and Zola areas. We exist to help low to mid income families that can not afford private schools (or even some fee-paying public schools), but want the same (or better) level of quality education with SMALL CLASS SIZES for their students. We are a not just any school - but look at the Holistic development of our students.

**Our class sizes are kept at no more than 24 students for optimum learning.** We teach CAPS using active teaching methods via an international teaching style. We are WCED certified with grades RR to 9. **Although we are gaining in size with over 300 students, we still aim to feel like a "family" and hold our staff in high regard**. Our students love to come to school, and some don't want to leave - that is something we like to brag about.

We are looking for an a proactive, caring, energetic, and enthusiastic person - Who doesn't just have a passion for teaching, but a wants to give back to their community and those less fortunate then themselves. Teachers who Care.

**A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL**:

- Have Experience teaching in Foundation Phase. New graduates with ample pre-teaching experience will be considered.
- Live within a 25 min drive to Strand **(only local CV's will be reviewed - no "relocates" will be considered.) DO NOT SEND**:

- Hold a BEd qualification or PGCE from a recognized institution in Senior Phase.
- HAVE a Current permanent SACE registration (non negotiable).
- Have a police clearance.
- Send us both a CV and a cover letter that shows why you are a good fit - along with your SACE, transcripts, sample Lesson Plan, and Police Clearance.

**Daily Duties for position listed**:

- **Have fun with what you do**:

- To manage, plan, and promote teaching and learning within the class using A**ctive Teaching and Learning Pedagogies**. Training available if needed **and** applicant shows willingness to learn.
- To manage, plan, assist and promote strong classroom management using **Positive Behavior Management strategies or (PBIS) - which is a very important part of our school.**:

- **CAPS experience or knowledge is essential as well as good termly, weekly, daily Lesson Planning skills.** (must show proof of detailed lesson planning skills at interview - please bring.)
- To create a respectful community-like atmosphere in the classroom where the students feel safe (some come from unsafe homes).
- Get along well with other staff members, regardless of personality, and work together as a team. Everyone treats everyone the same, no matter what "level" you are on. No Gossiping and Open Communication about any issue is KEY to keeping a good work environment,
- To plan, control, record and report on formal and informal assessments using WCED guidelines.
- To attend meetings, forums, workshops for the grade/phase as required and requested by HOD, Principal or Director.
- A willingness to contribute to the values and ethos of the School is essential including giving back to the community that we are helping.
- To proactively lead the school is some way using your own skillset.
