A leading fashion retailer based in Capetown has a Senior Merchandise Planner role available.

**Description**:
Strategic pre-season planning

Develop and implement Merchandise, Range, Stock and intake Planning

Open to Buy Management

Production management and supplier operations

Analysing sales performance, stock and planned availability i.e. in season trade

Managing and developing Store Planner’s - Coaching and developing Assistant Planners

**Education Profile**:
Relevant business diploma / degree (Retail business management/BCom/Clothing management/BScience/BA)

5-8 years planning experience

Extensive Retail knowledge.

**Must have experience in Planning fashion apparel**.**

Technically strong merchandising skills

Merchant and retail ability: demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the market place, competitors and customer needs

Knowledge of business IT systems (including Forecasting and Replenishment, RMS etc)

Knowledge of Product lead times to formulate a working critical path

Ability to formulate strategies and implement shorter-term tactical plans that are cost - effective efficient and realistic

Analytical and interpretative ability

Business acumen: an understanding of business processes and how sales are generated and the ability to achieve these goals

Computer literate: advanced Excel Skills and ability to operate in a Windows based environment Behavioural Competencies

Ability to coach, mentor and train

Enterprise leadership

Assertiveness and influencing ability

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Results driven and proactive

Ability to work in a pressurised environment
