Procurement Manager

**Summary of Responsibilities**:
This position reports functionally to the regional Indirect Procurement Manager for the Indirect activity and to the regional Procurement Director in general.

Make sure that Procurement activity in Durban is performed according to LZ Procurement standards and Policies. Insure Segegation of Duties is respected for all purchases of the site.

Represents Procurement on site and the Lubrizol brand to our suppliers base.

Responsible to procure equipments, supplies and services at the at best total cost of ownership for Lubrizol.

Is a member of the Durban Management Team.

**Essential Job Functions**:

- Survey the market regularly.
- Identify and qualify suppliers.
- Monitor and improve supplier performance and value.
- Evaluate and select vendors, insure PO fulfillment management, identify alliance opportunities in alignment with operations and site management needs (Cost/HSE/Quality/Service levels/Regulations).
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to eliminate problems and streamline processes.
- Negotiate supply agreements and contracts. Ensure contracts are being followed.
- Develop and use internal/external RFI (Request for Information) to understand Lubrizol needs and markets.
- Use RFQ (request for quote)/ RFP (request for proposals) to identify best supply source.
- Ensure POs are clear and accurately reflect internal customer needs.
- Ensure master data is accurate to allow efficient order processing and payment.
- Manage the "procure through payment" process for maximum efficiency (PO’s, receiving, payment, GR/IR for assigned areas).
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings (reductions, rebates, payment terms).
- Evaluate processes to implement savings due to increased efficiency.
- Train and educate others about purchasing process.
- Make sure SCARs are used, managed and monitored.
- Lead capex project procurement related activities.
- Report costs evolution of equipment’s and services to support facilities cost structure management (manufacturing).
- Network with all site departments seeking ways to best meet their purchasing needs.
- Ensure purchase orders are placed promptly and following all appropriate policies and practices.
- Manage assigned RM, commodities and/or services.
- Maintain and monitor Procurement KPI. Monitor Internal Audit KPI and take necessary actions to reach goals and potential gaps closures.
- Report any possible deviation regarding Procurement Standards & Policies.
- With management approval, has signing authority for supply agreements up to $?? Million.

**Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements**:

- Bachelor degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or any other technical matter.
- 5 or more years' experience in procurement or procurement related functions.
- Understanding of negotiation strategy, good knowledge of sourcing/purchasing methods.
- Good communication skills.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Ununpeachable Ethics.
- Ability to assert authority.
- Must be able to relate well with individuals at various levels, inside and outside of the organization.
- Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
- ERP systems experience and proficient with SAP and Ariba.

**Considered a plus**
- Advanced purchasing certification (e.g. CPSM, CPM).
- Management experience.
- Knowledge of the legal aspects of purchasing.
- Ability to train and coach others.
