**Job purpose**

To analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and identify trends using statistical methods and machine learning algorithms. Develop predictive models to forecast future trends and make data-driven recommendations for business decision making.

**Job scope**

Support the Digital team by analysing data to aid commercial decision making. Activities include exporting data from SQL queries and other duties such as;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Clean, preprocess, and wrangle raw data from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Communicate findings and insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders through visualizations, reports, and presentations.'
- Utilize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from relational databases efficiently.
- Collaborate with database administrators to optimize database structures and query performance.
- Integrate SQL-based data pipelines into the overall data processing workflow to ensure a seamless data flow from various sources.
- Provide SQL expertise and support to team members, assisting in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues.

**Background and experience**
- Previously experience of working with and analysing large data sets.
- Experience at using SQL to access and manipulate data in a large, complex organisation.
- Knowledge of SQL queries.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex issues.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues from other teams to deliver results.
- Able to work independently.
