Specimen Receiving Clerk

**DUTIES**
- Comply with the ISO 15189 requirements.
- Complying with the Organisation’s Policies, Procedures and Rules.
- Attending the relevant in service training, workshops and meetings.
- Ensuring compliance with the organisation’s Quality Management System, including establishing a full knowledge of the quality and practice manuals.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**MAINTAIN SAFE ENVIRONMENT BY ENSURING THE FFG**:

- Use of personal Protective equipment viz. lab coats and gloves.
- Maintain a clean environment by disinfecting benches/equipment on a daily basis with disinfectant.
- Disposing of hazardous medical waste according to waste management procedure

**PERFORM GENERAL DUTIES**:

- Handle administrative requests and queries
- Receiving samples, capturing samples
- Assist with telephonic queries and faxing of patient’s results.
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Assist with clipping of results and checking that all test requested are performed.
- Provide support to managers and employees
- Posting of pathology results dispatching of request forms
- Placing orders for doctors according to their request
- Courier reconciliations: tracking sheets, cash received
- General administration duties as delegated
- Ordering of stock from Head Office by liaising with Stores Officer
- Requisitions according to client and laboratory needs is coordinated
- l. Proper stock control, stock rotation and storage is maintained
- Inspect received items as per specifications
- Issuing of stock to couriers as per requisition
- Other duties requested by General Manager /Directors.
- Liaise with Quality Assurance at Head Office Durban regarding update of documentation
- Assist with issuing and retrieval of documentation

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Matric
- BSc qualification
- 2-3 years lab experience
- 1/2 years administration experience
- Computer Literacy
- Drivers Licenses
- Attention to Detail
