Senior Inspector

Job Description- Ensuring adequate competency levels of staff within the Harmonization framework;
- Inspection and certification of perishable products;
- Inspection of the handling, storage and transport of perishable products;
- Coordinating compliance to prescribed processes, procedures and protocols within the framework of the Agricultural Product Standards Act;
- Coordinating compliance to prescribed processes, procedures and protocols within the framework of the Perishable Products Export Control Board Act;
- Ensure adherence to Service Level agreements;
- Ensuring effective two way communication internal and external;
- Administrative tasks and reporting related to the execution of services;
- Accept the responsibility of continuous self improvement in their area of responsibility according to the PPECB performance system;
- Participating in the relief duty roster
- Job Requirements**Job Requirements**:

- A tertiary qualification in an agricultural discipline with at least 7 years relevant work experience;
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of all inspection services relevant to the specified geographical area;
- Knowledge and experience of product inspection of the following products**:Citrus; Minor Products, Grapes and inland container loading.**
- Experience in Food Safety audits will be an advantage;
- Operational planning; training and organizing skills;
- Good communication skills and a team player;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Proven track record of taking ownership enabled by responsible and accountable behavior;
- A valid code 08 driving license and own reliable vehicle.
