An exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Generalist in the construction industry, that is passionate about implementing effective and efficient people practices to support the company vision and meeting their set objectives. The HR Generalist will provide general HR support ensuring the HR department's operations runs effectively to deliver maximum value to the organisation as a whole in achieving its business objectives.

**Minimum Requirements**
- Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management
- 5 years of experience in HR Generalist role in the construction industry
- Construction Sector experience essential
- Strong employee relations management experience

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Oversee payroll administrator to ensure Salaries & Wages are paid timeously and accurately.
- Provide end to end recruitment requests and on-boarding to effectively support department staffing needs.
- Resolve all staff grievances and foster positive staff/management relations.
- Support line managers with HR advice to effectively manage performance & misconduct or ill-health and incapacity.
- Draft and implement company policies.
- Provide HR advice and guidance to all staff in support of business objectives.
- Provide IR support in relation to Disciplinary Hearings, conciliation and arbitration cases at BIBC/CCMA.
- Administer IODs, COIDA/Workman’s Compensation claims.
- Ensure EE & Skills Development WSP implementation and compliance.
- Develop and implement HR initiatives to build and foster a supportive company culture aligned to the company values.
- Oversee staff welfare, by implementing identified initiatives, events and teambuilding to build relationships, trust and boost morale.
- Facilitate HR information sessions as and when required.
- Ensure the HR Information Systems used are updated timeously. Analyse employee data, provide accurate HR reports.
- Implement HR projects that support the business objectives and business plan based on analysed data.

**Professional Knowledge and skills required**:

- Payroll and Benefit Administration.
- Building Industry Bargaining Council Collective Agreement.
- Department of Labour (COIDA/ Workman’s Compensation)
- Implement and manage HR Plans: EE; WSP Management; Culture Building; Employee Performance Management, retention strategies.
- Developing Policies and Procedures.
- Computer skills: MS Office Suite, particularly excel spreadsheet management
- Data analysis, data/information management and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English.
- Being multilingual is an advantage.
- Valid Code 8 Driver's license.
- Remain abreast of HR trends.

**Education**:

- Diploma (required)

- End to End Recruitment: 5 years (required)
- Payroll: 5 years (required)
- Performance Management: 5 years (required)
- Employment Equity implementation: 5 years (required)
- relevant HR Generalist: 5 years (required)
- Handling disciplinary matters and providing advisory support: 5 years (required)
- Skills Development and Compliance SETA submissions: 5 years (required)
- HR exposure in the Construction Industry: 5 years (required)

License/Certification:

- Driver's Code 8 License (required)
