**BIOSTATISTICS UNIT**

**(DURBAN /PRETORIA /CAPE TOWN OFFICE)**

**STATISTICIAN / SENIOR STATISTICIAN**

**Two (2) Permanent Positions**

**Core Requirements**:

- Hold a MSc in statistics, biostatistics, or biometry; At least 3 years’ experience (Senior Statistician)/ 2 years’ experience(Statistician) in clinical and health research environment
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to undertake projects in Biostatistical methodology and applied Biostatistical research projects; or being a co-investigator or study statistician in Health-related projects.
- Evidence of strong academic background and peer-reviewed ISI publication record, with at least 3 ISI publications (Senior Statistician)/1 ISI publication (Statistician)
- Ability to communicate statistical concepts and information to non-statisticians in Health and Clinical Sciences.
- Evidence of strong teamwork to successfully work in a project team.

**Advantageous**:

- Experience working with epidemiology and public health research groups and centers.

A salary in the region of** R534 050** (Statistician - Seasoned)** or **R591 632** per annum **(Senior Statistician - Entry)** will be offered, cost-to-company, dependent on qualifications and research experience
