Metering Specialist, C3

**INTRODUCTION**

Are you a self-starter? Midstream Electrical Supplies, south of Centurion is seeking a Metering Specialist with a basic working understanding of electricity to assist with the project to supply standby power to residents. The successful person will be situated in the Control Room and must be willing to work shifts.
- **Contract is project based (3 - 6 months)**_

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- Completed Matric (Grade 12)
- N4 - N6 Qualification with excellent Mathematical skills
- Valid vehicle driver’s license
- 1 - 2 years previous experience in electric industry
- Knowledge of electricity metering configuration
- Excel, Word, Outlook, Synapses / Servers, and Google docs skills
- Basic understanding of electricity, specifically to kWh and KVA
- Willing to work shifts

**JOB SPECIFICATION**
- **Control Room**_
- Before loadshedding, check that the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is charged.
- Confirm the Estate groups to receive standby power during load shedding and check all AMR servers.
- Do health checks on BESS and confirm to relevant teams that it is operational.
- Prepare loadshedding event logging sheet.
- Communicating the Hexing switching summary to relevant teams.
- Monitor the standby power supply process.
- Switch Estate groups, not selected to receive standby power, off.
- Follow the procedure to switch of BESS
- Regular and accurate communication to different teams
- **Maintenance**_
- Update Pastel Evolution and Synapses
- Do checks for faults per minisub on Synapses
- Identify readings outstanding longer than two days and plan for maintenance
- Escalate maintenance recurring more than three times
- **Reports**_
- Assist management with Reports i.e. Harmonic, Solar, Minisubs etc.
- **Standby**_
- 3 times daily checks on AMR Servers and MES Dashboard.
- Rotational 24/7 assistance of the CEO and Electrical team on site, during loadshedding, with load control or remotely.
- Load Profiles Reports.
- Assist Electrical Standby in remotely switching Tennis/Squash Court lights on and off as well as cold water complaints.

**Salary**: R25 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
