RPO Recruitment's client is currently seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their team in Johannesburg. As the Assistant Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the financial accounting and reporting functions of the company. This includes assisting with financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and assisting with year-end audits. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Finance Manager and gain valuable experience in a dynamic finance department.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries
- Support the Finance Manager in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assist with year-end audits and provide necessary documentation
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as requested
- Prepare and post financial journal processing
- Prepare month end GL reconciliations
- Prepare GL site YE packs, including the analysing of income and expense
- Accounts for tax pack purposes.
- Assist with all audit queries
- Answers to queries, information, explanations and help as required.

**Requirements**:

- Newly qualified CA SA or CIMA graduate
- Accounting degree + 2+ years total experience with 1-2
- Years accounting and administrative experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Oracle
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting software is preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
