What will you do?
The Administrative Clerk will serve as the support function within the Litigation business unit to various Litigation Managers and administrative duties in general. The incumbent will be responsible for follow-up on processing activities to ensure a high quality of service is provided. Focus will be placed on non-core activities of claims handler responsibilities. What will make you successful in this role?
Generic
- Gather outstanding information and documentation, which could not be obtained by FNOL department
- Receive external correspondence (such as physically mailed documents).
- Allocation of incoming documents to the claims file (e.g., Unidentified claim or mail with reference numbers missing).
- Document management in terms of scanning and indexing.
- Filing (transitional role).

**Specific to Litigation Manager**:

- Appointing external Service providers and providing Service Providers with access to SANTAM’s systems as well as gathering and providing outstanding claims documents to service providers.
- Effective Diary management in terms of AJS (Claims System) and Guidewire ClaimCenter.
- Ad hoc tasks pertaining to the validation and updating of Management Info.
- Management of Broker enquiries.
- Updating of notes on operating system (AJS) and Guidewire ClaimCenter.
- Updating of claim profiles and segments.
- Liaise with brokers, administrators, underwriting and other relevant parties to the claims process.
- Providing excellent professional service to all relevant parties, both Internal and External.

**Specific to allocation of monies**:

- Liability/recovery: responsible for allocation of incoming monies/cashier functionality (i.e., capital on claims recovery, insured excess on liability claim).
- Prepare payments requests.
- Preparing JDE requisitions

Qualifications and Experience
- Matric/ Grade 12
- Minimum 2 - 5 years’ experience in the insurance industry
- Legal Secretary or Para-Legal qualification (Advantageous)

Knowledge and Skills
- Expert knowledge of Persetel, AJS and ClaimCenter will serve as an advantage
- Thorough knowledge of Civil Litigation Process required.
- Experience working in an attorney firm will serve as an advantage.
- Product Knowledge: Short Term Insurance
- Proficient in JDE transitioning.
