**Consultant Pathologist: Histology**

**(Mpumalanga, Nelspruit based, 40 hours work week)**

**Purpose of Position**:
To consult with the clients i.e. doctors and patients and the laboratory personnel. To manage the laboratory and establish and maintain a high-quality pathology service in line with the laboratories standard.

Degree Requirements:

- FC Path(SA)
- HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field
- MBChB
- M Med (Pathology)

Key Responsibilities:

- Discuss life threatening results with clients and provide guidance
- Continuous Education for Pathology laboratories
- Maintain client relations to promote the image of the Laboratory
- Marketing
- Oversee the standard of the work performed, overall operation and administration in the laboratory
- Promotion of Professional Standards and Expertise, Provision of Continuous Pathology/Clinical Laboratory Service: Consultation with doctors
- Control and monitoring of results, Result verification, Reporting, Participation in Peer Group,
- Sign-out all abnormal results according to criteria
