**Job Title: Shift Electrician Rewinder**

**Location: Kuilsriver, Cape Town**

We are seeking an experienced Shift Electrician with experience in rewinding of motors who will be responsible for maintenance that is done effectively and accurately in such a way as to ensure minimum downtime. Required to work within a complex manufacturing business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Check plant and equipment to ensure optimum working condition.
- Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
- Performing pre-planned maintenance tasks.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently in a safe manner.
- Report defect, which cannot be immediately repaired to supervisor.
- Monitor production processes to minimize loss of productivity.
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Working shifts as required.
- Diagnose faults on motors.
- Identify and document internal winding data.
- Remove old windings.
- Complete full or partial core re-stack to meet test criteria.
- Perform appropriate wire insertion, wedging and tying of windings or wire.
- Perform connection sequence including equipment necessary for final soldering, brazing, or welding of internal coil leads to external leads.
- Tie and proof end clearance of finished windings.
- Perform final test and documentation.

**Requirements**:

- Maintenance Electrical Qualification (Trade Tested Red Seal)
- 3-5 years’ experience as a qualified maintenance electrician.
- 3 years’ experience in rewinding motors.
- Experience in Electrical installations and maintenance thereof.
- Experience within the Steel Manufacturing Industry preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to read electrical drawings.
- Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Must understand basics of PLC’s.

- Certificate (required)

**Experience**:

- Rewinding Motors: 3 years (required)
- Electrical Installations and Maintenance thereof: 3 years (required)

Shift availability:

- Night Shift (required)
