To take ownership in the running of the day to day despatch operation. To be a focal point for the dispatch team and to ensure that they are undertaking their responsibilities and duties as required. To guide and lead the team to get the best performance, to ensure accurate and timeous despatching of orders to the correct third party according to S.O.P’s

- Ensure that all parcels are scanned into despatch
- Ensure that orders are sorted and allocated correctly to either local route deliveries or collections
- Ensure that the right parcels being collected in person by the client, is given to the right client
- Ensure that third party’ deliveries are consolidated, packed, and all invoices are scanned to ensure that all contents are for the specified
- Ensure that representative signs the trip sheet and thereafter files the trip sheet
- Ensure that orders are scanned for every route to ensure that all the parcels for that route time have been scanned
- Ensure that security give the correct orders to the correct drivers.Despatch Clerk ensures that Drivers complete and update trip sheets accurately
- Ensure that actual invoices correspond with trip sheets, prior to deliveries
- Ensure timeous despatch of parcels and the return of trip sheets with proof of deliveries
- Ensure that the amount of order delivered corresponds with trip sheet and invoices;
- Investigate and record variances
- Manage the despatch area to reduce risk, cost and shrinkage
- Performance management of staff within area of responsibility
- Manage and maintain discipline of staff within area of responsibility
- Ensure that there are sufficient staff to operate effectively and efficiently (scheduling) and manage overtime in a cost conscious manner.
- Ensure staff competence regarding the use of systems, processes and practices
- Identify development needs and find ways to address these
- Manage employee relations in area
- Continuously ensure compliance with good house keeping, hygiene, Health and Safety Rules
- Qualifications
Essential - B.Com degree in Logistics
- Experience
Essential - minimum 3 years experience in a similar position
- Knowledge and Skills
a. Internal company procedures and policies
b. Basic Pharmaceutical and storage knowledge
c. Warehouse and distribution management
d. People management
e. Computer literacy
