Becton Dickinson (BD) seeks to enroll 6 learners nationally, for our 2023-2024 Learnership Programme.

A. OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMME

The primary objective of the Programme is to enable recently qualified life science graduates who are currently unemployed to obtain an occupation-specific qualification, augmented by relevant and real-time workplace experience.
The secondary objective, and the ultimate goal of this learnership, is to enhance the marketability of the learner within the industry in order to facilitate permanent employment as a pharmaceutical sales representative on successful completion of the programme.

B. OVERVIEW OF THE LEARNERSHIP
- Twelve-month programme, incorporating contact sessions (theory) and workplace experience.
- BD has partnered with Masoom Training Solutions, a CHIETA Accredited Training Provider, to execute training and assessments. Assessments in the form of Exams and Portfolios of Evidence (PoE) are evaluated by CHIETA to determine Competency in order to award a National Certificate.
- Workplace component comprises learners being integrated into a sales team where they will shadow and be mentored by experienced sales and other BD personnel
- Learners will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the programme, and will be required to conform to terms of employment.

C. REQUIREMENTS
- Learners must be African; based in Gauteng, Durban and Cape Town and be South Africa Citizens.
- Learners need to be Life Science or Biotech graduates (or students completing degree shortly).
- Learners must have a valid SA Driver’s License (Essential).
- Commitment to the 12 month Programme is mandatory (will be required to sign a contract).
- Confident, good communicators, excellent inter-personal skills and a passion for selling
