Reporting into the Planning and Inventory Control Manager, the incumbent of this position will be required to draw up master schedules to establish sequence and lead times of production to meet shipping and dispatch dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders.

**Qualifications & Expertise**:

- Matric with minimum NQF level 5 qualification in Production Planning, Demand / Supply Planning, Supply Chain Management or relevant discipline

**Job Experience**:

- A minimum of 3 years work experience in a production, demand or supply planning role
- Experience in scheduling and prioritizing a manufacturing/production process
- Experience in Pulp, Paper and Packaging materials is an advantage
- Experience in creating and maintaining of master data in SAP for packaging material and finished goods is an advantage
- Experience in material planning and PO placement is an advantage
- Experience in calculation of safety stock and reorder points an advantage is an advantage

**Key Performance Areas**:

- Creating, capturing and developing accurate production plans
- Operating computerized planning, scheduling and reporting systems
- Aligning production plans to customer requirements in order of urgency
- Interfacing with production and finishing departments to ensure plans are clearly communicated and progress (actual vs. planned) is monitored and communicated to all relevant stakeholders
- Maintaining the quality standards in production planning processes and practices
- Contributing to the development of procedures, work instructions and training manuals
- Track and work with relevant stakeholders to improve the following KPIs:

- Number of Production Plan Changes
- Production Scheduling Adherence %
- Deckle Efficiency %
- Adhering to MD creation lead times
- No pm shortages resulting from order placement gaps

**Job Competencies/ Attributes/Skills**:

- Excellent technical problem-solving abilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Has attention to detail, delivers quality work within deadlines, proactive approach
- Ability to work under minimum supervision and take personal initiatives to achieve goals
- Solid production planning knowledge
- Must be computer literate with knowledge of MS Office
- SAP knowledge is an advantage
- Valid Driver’s License
- Solid material planning knowledge is an advantage
- Good working knowledge of master data creation in the packaging and finished good space is advantageous
