Technical Writer

Create marketing material, website content, and blogs.
- Draft Product brochures leaflets, white papers, inserts and case studies.
- Write technical specifications of products, summarised product descriptions and overviews, user manuals and related training materials.
- Produce and edit presentations for Sales and marketing purposes, ensuring compliance to corporate guidelines.
- Generate diagrams and visual interpretations of process flows.
- Understand the DetNet products through hands-on-experience.
- Write technical direction on product announcements, marketing brochures, advertisements, and marketing specifications.
- Meet with channel representatives, vendors, design engineers and production to establish technical specifications.
- Study drawings, specifications, mock-ups, and product samples to integrate in manuals.
- Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson.
- Complete assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Review published materials and recommended revisions or changes in scope, format, and content.
- Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
- Ensure fields flow in the correct sequence, create table of contents, and cite sources.
- Attend trials, blasts, and channel partner functions in order to gain first hand product knowledge.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Create marketing material, website content, and blogs.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Diploma in Electrical Engineering/ Electronic/ Mechanical or equivalent
- National Certificate/ Diploma - Occupational Directed Education/ Training and Development Practices
- 5 years’ experience in a technical writing role and/or Marketing
- Long and short copywriting experience
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently
- Knowledge of search engine optimisation (SEO) and writing SEO
- Basic HTML or web design experience
