**Registered Nurse - Pediatrics**

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated pediatric nurse to oversee the medical and health care of children from infancy to late adolescence. The pediatric nurse will review a child's symptoms and medical history, offer basic care, deliver prescribed medicine, and track the patient's progress. The pediatric nurse will also help families address their concerns, fears, challenges, and solutions.

**Requirements & Expertise**:

- General Nursing Degree / Diploma
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council
- One year’s experience as a Pediatric nurse
- Effective communication abilities
- Emotional and mental strength, commitment, and self-motivation.
- Empathy and the ability to relate to children.

**Responsibilities**:

- Interacting with children and asking health-related questions to aid in diagnosis, as well as documenting patients' symptoms and medical history for the doctor.
- Remaining abreast of the latest developments, rules and regulations, drug therapies, equipment, and treatment procedures.
- Identifying changes in children's symptoms and intervening in emergency situations.
- Participating in the pain management of children
- Medication administration, drawing of blood, and pediatric vaccines are performed in accordance with age-appropriate guidelines.
- Temperature, pulse, breathing, and blood pressure should be monitored and recorded accurately.
- Addressing the concerns and needs of parents and assisting families in coping with the illness or injury of their kid.
- Evaluating a child's needs and providing initial care.
- Evaluating children for indications of abuse.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: R82.88 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week

**Experience**:

- Pediatric: 1 year (required)

License/Certification:

- South African Nursing Council (required)
