Junior Quality Controller

Freezerland seeks an experienced individual to assume the role of Quality Controller for our crumbed chicken factory. This position requires practical expertise in food manufacturing and quality control procedures, with an emphasis on ensuring product excellence. While formal qualifications are not obligatory, relevant experience in a comparable role within the food industry is indispensable. As a Quality Controller, the primary responsibility entails the meticulous oversight of quality standards and food safety throughout the production process.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, production procedures, and final products to verify adherence to quality standards and specifications.

2. Perform sensory evaluations, encompassing visual examinations, taste assessments, and texture analyses, to validate product quality and consistency.

3. Document and report any quality discrepancies, deviations, or non-conformities, collaborating with production personnel to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

4. Execute internal audits and quality assessments to confirm compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

5. Assist in the formulation and implementation of quality assurance protocols, procedures, and training initiatives to support continuous improvement endeavours.

6. Engage with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and sanitation, to address quality-related concerns and optimize operational processes.

7. Maintain meticulous records and documentation pertaining to quality control activities, encompassing inspection reports, test outcomes, and corrective action logs.

8. Stay abreast of industry developments, regulations, and best practices concerning food safety and quality assurance, offering proactive recommendations for procedural enhancements.

9. Foster a culture of quality and excellence within the organization, advocating for awareness and accountability regarding quality standards among all employees.

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrable experience in a quality control or food safety capacity within the food manufacturing sector is essential.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations, principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and quality management systems is advantageous.
- Exemplary attention to detail and proficiency in conducting thorough inspections and assessments.
- Effective communication skills, facilitating clear and concise interactions with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem-solving aptitude, with the capacity to identify issues, analyze causative factors, and implement effective resolutions.
- Capacity to work autonomously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to accommodate varied work schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
