Craft and assemble various mechanical system components.
- Examine and understand engineering drawings and plans to determine the specifications and requirements.
- Utilize tools and machinery to create parts needed for mechanical systems.
- Employ welding techniques to join metal parts together.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure mechanical systems function efficiently and effectively.
- Undertake regular checks and repairs to uphold the integrity of mechanical equipment.
- Identify issues within machinery to prevent or address failures.
- Swap out faulty or worn parts to maintain or enhance performance.
- Follow all relevant safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Set up new mechanical systems and ensure they are operational.
- Examine machinery for issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Develop and follow timelines for regular maintenance checks to minimize operational disruptions.
- Troubleshoot and identify the causes of machinery malfunctions.
- Take apart and reassemble mechanical systems for repair or maintenance.
- Understand and follow technical drawings and plans for equipment assembly or repair.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as devices for measuring components accurately.
- Uphold all safety and regulatory standards in daily operations.
- Work alongside other maintenance professionals to enhance plant operations.
- Effectively convey information regarding maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Document all repair work, replacements, and inventory of parts to track maintenance activities.
QUALIFICATIONS;
- Completion of Matriculation (Grade 12) along with a relevant qualification in the field.
- Must possess a trade test certificate, indicating qualification and competency in the specific trade area.
- Previous experience in an FMCG or food manufacturing industry is essential.
- Ownership of a reliable vehicle is required for commuting purposes.
- Must be willing and able to work on a shift basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by production schedules.
