Summary

Role Responsibilities
- Supporting the senior lawyers in the Capital Markets and Post Trade Legal teams with a wide range of strategic and corporate initiatives and regulatory analysis, working closely with SMEs from the broader Legal & Compliance team.
- Drafting and negotiating agreements with customers, vendors, partners and other third parties, including data licenses, software and intellectual property licenses, intercompany and outsourcing agreements and other complex commercial agreements.
- Support on litigation, regulatory and market infrastructure disciplinary matters and complaints from market participants.
- Coordinating legal matters handled by outside counsel and a point of escalation for legal issues.
- Responsible for maintaining, updating and revising contract template agreements and rulebooks and other related documentation.
- Implementing internal controls, policies and procedures to increase efficiencies and assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, corporate policies, ethical standards and oversee adherence to contractual obligations.

Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a legal position handling a broad range of commercial law disciplines.
- Qualified lawyer with experience at a law firm / in-house financial services legal team with a minimum of 2 years PQE.
- Financial regulatory legal background desirable.
- Willing to develop knowledge of current and developing legal issues, the regulatory environment and trends in the relevant markets together with a desire to develop a good understanding of the Capital Markets and Post Trade businesses.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Strong contract negotiation and drafting abilities.
- Outstanding commitment to internal and external customer service.
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills, ability to manage projects.
- Strong skills to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Sound administrative and time management skills, with sharp attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and capability to build strong, trusted and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across different functions and cultures, positively influencing the behaviour of multiple stakeholders, and successfully balancing customer interests while maintaining a good legal and fiscal position for the company; judgement, tact and discretion when dealing with people and issues
- Fluent in English.
