**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
Responsible for day to day managing of operations on the floor. Helping the Shift Manager with managing safety, people management, quality, delivery and execution of the daily and weekly production plans. Ensure that Process orders are created and closed on time. Help reduce cost.
**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:
**SAFETY**
- Responsible for good catches and BOSs for the department.
- Responsible for raising job cards for all safety issues of the department.
- Responsible for following up with engineering to ensure that all open safety action items in the department are closed out.
- Ensure that the company safety rules, wearing of PPE and safe working conditions are adhered to at all times.
- Compliance to OHSACT.
- Responsible for holding daily safety talks with the team and filing a record of such meeting.
**QUALITY**
- Responsible for executing GMP, HACCP, AIB requirements and FSSC 22000 programs on the production lines.
- Responsible for performing quality and food safety inspections when required.
- Responsible for escalating any adverse quality incidents that occur on the packaging lines.
- Responsible for checking the poly quality and creating NCRs (Non-Conformance report) on SAP system /QM01 if there are any deviations.
- Responsible for checking the outer carton quality and creating NCRs (Non-Conformance report) on SAP system /QM01 if there are any deviations.
- Random testing of bags weight, sealing and checking of date code and batch code to ensure that they are correct.
**DELIVERY**
- Responsible for reconciling the raw material issues for processing and intermediate (Frozen WIP) issues from Cold stores to Packing and Mixing.
- Ensuring that Processing, Packing and Mixing Process Orders are opened in SAP for issuing via LM01 for both day and night.
- Responsible for reconciling physical issues with theoretical issues on SAP, using LT22 (movement monitoring code).
- Responsible for Reconciling and verifying raw material issues from weighbridge.
- Ensure all packaging from Packaging returning to Dry stores is neatly wrapped and accounted for, for both day and night shift.
- Ensuring by the end of the day BIN 400 is empty and all negatives on BIN 914 are cleared using T-Code LT10
- Responsible for counting and reporting backflush materials for Packing and Mixing (Tape, Stretch-wrapper, Liners, Interleafs and wire ties)
- Assisting other functions in the Department should the need arise.
- Doing GRVs when the GRV clerk is absent, training of the GRV clerk substitute.
- Responsible for meeting the CTS requirements from Supply Chain Management department.
**COST**
- Responsible for tracking the Rehydration costs.
- Tracking the shift efficiencies on a daily basis.
- Responsible for reporting WIP losses and gains on each Process Order.
- Responsible for reporting Packaging (poly, outer cartons) losses and gains on each Process Order for both day and night.
**PEOPLE**
- Capturing the Processing, Packing and Mixing hours on Kronos system for both day and night shift daily.
- Capture leaves and sick leave on the leave book, report and track the department’s absenteeism.
- Responsible for updating the Monthly Birthday Department Board.
- Responsible for monitoring of the temporary employees contracts the start and expiring of the contracts and communicating with managers about it.
- Training of standby clerks on executing SAP Goods Receipt (GRV) transactions
**ENVIRONMENT**
- Responsible for making sure the pallet area is always with minimum pallets to avoid a fire incident.
- Ensuring the staging area for Packing is always clean the GMP is accordingly.
- Ensure that the Chiller is always kept clean.
**SYSTEMS**
- Using SAP system to create job cards, issue Raw and WIP to Process orders create NCRs.
- Updating of Real Time Management (RTM).
- Using Microsoft Excel for creating spreadsheets for reports, e.g. Rehydration report, Daily PO report, Absenteeism reports, OEE report
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:
- A diploma/NQF 5/degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study.
- Minimum of 5years experience working in an FMCG environment.
- SAP Experience.
- Previous experience with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing Principles, TPM, 6S and OEE will be an added advantage.
